Very sadly, on 5th December 2020 our very good friend and founder member of SME Alliance, Nigel Henderson, lost his long battle with cancer. In the six years we have had the privilege of knowing Nigel he always the epitome of the kind of honest and decent business man this Country relies on to build the economy and promote the reputation of Britain and the British as fair and honourable people with a totally ethical business ethos. Unfortunately, the conduct of a major UK Bank who, in Nigel's case (and many other cases), had and in some cases still have, a totally unethical approach to business, and this meant that the last 20 years of Nigel's life were entirely dedicated to searching for justice against the wrongs done to him, his family and his business. Many of the SME Alliance members know Nigel's case and we remain astounded and devastated any Bank could allow such a great injustice to remain unresolved for even one year, let alone 20. I could go into detail about the Henderson case (which continues) but, fortunately, and even although he is no longer with us, we do have the video of the very powerful speech Nigel gave at the Cambridge International Symposium On Economic Crime in 2016. No one has put the plight of the victims of economic crime more eloquently. On behalf of all our members we send our deepest condolences to Nigel's family. He will be sadly missed by us all. We leave the final words to Nigel. Extract from Nigel Hendersons' speech at Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime 2016 From all your friends at SME Alliance. RIP
